The New Titans #82

Subtitle: The Jericho Gambit part one: The Saviors

Storyline: Jericho had his Wildebeests put Nightwing in a holding cell. Dick soon found out his cellmate was the "original" Wildebeest. He was told about how Jericho had taken over the group. Nightwing tried to piece together a timeline.
Arella told the group something she remembered: Jericho was using a soul-self (like she and Raven could do) when he attacked her camp. For what ever reason, he was unable to kill her.
Donna returned from the War of the Gods.
Deathstroke had the group go over some of the things in his son's apartment. There were dozens of photographs of the city that all appeared to be taken from the same location. In that location, they found a portal to Azarath.


The New Titans #83

Cover Date: February 1992
Subtitle: The Jericho Gambit part two: A Thousand Souls

Artists(s): Tom Grummett, Al Vey
Storyline: The group (Phantasm, Pantha, Arella, Deathstroke, Troia, and Red Star) split up to get inside the huge domed building in Azarath.
Jericho killed the original Wildebeest and brought Nightwing out into the open. While Phantasm and Deathstroke found an organism growing and some computer plans, the others found the Titans. Nightwing was freed, but he (with Jericho inside) attacked them.
Phantasm was wounded, but Deathstroke got back to the main room with the rest. Jericho took him down and tied him up. He was Azarath and Trigon. When Trigon had been destroyed, his soul and those of Azarath merged into him. They were now to be transferred into the bodies of the Titans with powers.
Deathstroke got free and stabbed his son through the chest from behind.


The New Titans #84

Subtitle: The Jericho Gambit part three: Endings and Beginnings

Storyline: Joe's death caused the souls of Azarath / Trigon to be released. They joined into the Titans. Wilson's body turned to ash in his father's arms. Danny Chase appeared - he'd been masquerading as the Phantasm. Arella, who'd gained the soul of Azar previously, did battle against her daughter. The other souls released the Titans and poured into Raven. Arella and Danny made a second run into Raven's soul self, destroying Raven.
The Titans evacuated back through the portal and into New York. The building imploded behind them. They lost Jericho, Raven, Arella, and Danny.


The New Titans #85

Cover Date: April 1992
Subtitle: Dirge

Storyline: The remaining Titans held a memorial service for Joseph, Raven, Arella, and Danny (though mostly for Joe). After, some headed to STAR to visit Vic and Aqualad. No one was giving up hope on either of them, though things didn't look good.
A strange disturbance began at the site of the imploded building. The Titans checked it out and were greeted by Phantasm. It (no longer Danny, now the essence of Azarath) sucked them away and left them with the incubated baby Wildebeest.
The future Teen Titans watched in anticipation of killing Donna for what her son would become in their time.


The New Titans #86

Subtitle: If This be Chaos

Storyline: Lord Chaos, now in our time, took over a corporation and fired its employees.
Donna became ill as the Titans pondered what to do with the baby wildebeest. The future Titans continued to watch the group waiting for their moment to kill Troia. Dick and Kory began to have some problems when she saw him as coddling her due to her injuries.
Future Terra confronted Changeling. Nightwing and Deathstroke spoke about Joe.


The New Titans #87

Subtitle: Reflections

Storyline: Vic's grandparents visited the grave of Golden Eagle; Red Star visited Vic (still in comatose form); Steve Dayton was visited by Harpy
Pantha watched as baby Wildebeest chased his ball into a street. She swooped down for a better view of the creature's demise, but it instead picked the car up to retrieve its toy.
Red Star's surrogate father was removed from his post and placed in a secret facility to continue his work - creating an army of "metamen."
Aqualad finally woke up in the care of an Atlantean hospital.


The New Titans #88

Subtitle: Bringing up Baby

Storyline: Changeling was taken aback when he found himself staring down Terra. She had second thoughts and fled after burying him under some earth.
Terry called Gar - Donna was not doing well.
Red Wing contacted her group - she planned on attacking Troia solo while she below full power. She was no matched for Donna and was placed in a cell at STAR.
Kory gave Dick a haircut and new costume (blue and gold - no collar). She, too, began wearing a new outfit (solid piece). They headed to STAR after hearing about Donna and the attacker. Red Wing knew Nightwing and assumed he was the same as the one from her future.
Donna collapsed and was revealed as being pregnant.


The New Titans #89

Subtitle: With Every Little Step we Take

Storyline: Dr. Sims told the group that Donna's child was growing inside her at an alarming rate. Meanwhile, Lord Chaos, Donna's future child, continued having episodes and feelings of his mother.
Dayton called the group back to his home, which had become their base since the Tower was destroyed. Baby Wildebeest had grown and was now a toddler. He demanded his "mama" - a reluctant Pantha.
Nightwing told the group they must help Deathstroke or take him down if he had gone too far over the edge.


The New Titans #90

Subtitle: That Which Lurks Within a Star (Total Chaos part 2)

Storyline: [continued from Deathstroke: The Terminator #14]
Nightwing, Starfire (the real one), Red Star, Pantha, and Changeling headed to STAR to save Donna from the fake Starfire. The Team Titans followed and wrecked their helicopter. They all survived the crash, but the public saw them as a menace when the wreckage his Times Square.
Deathstroke found himself in a group of misfits in the sewer. One attacked him, but he bested the freak. The rest saw him as their new leader. He had them lead him to STAR.
Lord Chaos went to his soon-to-be mother. Deathstroke watched as the fake Starfire revealed her true self (Mirage of the Team Titans) and freed Red Wing. A battle ensued between the New Titans and Team Titans. Lord Chaos arrived.

The New Titans #91

Storyline: [continued from Deathstroke: The Terminator #15]
After giving birth, Donna was blasted by Lord Chaos. The godling held his infant self.
On Titans' Island, a new pyramid neard completion. Somewhere in the city, Future Nightwing arrived.
Phantasm reconstituted himself out of the souls of Azarath to tell the Titans (both groups) that Troy was all around them. Hostilities broke out between the teams and baby Wildebeest became full-sized Wildebeest. Mirage was left with the New Titans while the rest of the Team Titans escaped.
Storms erupted around them, then Troia appeard - she was huge and in golden armor. Note: First appearance of Battalion.

The New Titans #92

Subtitle: My Enemy - My Mother (Total Chaos part 8)

Storyline: [continued from Deathstroke: The Terminator #16]
Troia, now normal size, did battle against her son from the future. Kilowat blasted Chaos, causing an explosion and fire. Troia hit him with a tidal wave, but Chaos escaped with the baby.
Nightwing realized that Lord Chaos and the Team Titans were from the future, but not from their future. He rallied the troops (both Titans teams) to go after Troia, who'd blazed off looking for her son. She returned and gathered the Titans. They flew to Chaos' new temple. Aqualad appeared as the Titans were dropped into the river.
Chaos welcomed a squadron of his troops from the future.
Note: "You're still one of us. You were born on earth and you've been my partner and my friend since you were thirteen." (Nightwing to Troia)

The New Titans #93

Subtitle: The Titans Went on Vacation and all They Got was this Lousy

Storyline: The Titans returned to New York City to find they'd been inundated with mail - both good and bad. Dick and Kory went on a date, but it was ruined by everyone wanting her autograph. While out, Dick saw the "Teeny Titans" cartoon was airing.
Titans action figures and comic books debuted. Someone (perhaps Mirage) posed in a nude centerfold spread as Starfire.
Leonid got a letter from home - they wanted him to return to Russia with Cyborg.
Phantasm returned to Azarath, where he (it?) was attacked. Note: It appears that Baby Wildebeest changes size when he's angered. He's normally a toddler, but he expands to about ten feet tall.
