The New Titans #72

Storyline: Golden Eagle met with Aqualad - they were supposed to meet Deathstroke, but they were attacked by Wildebeest. Garth fell back into the ocean during the struggle, Golden Eagle was defeated and left for dead.
Deathstroke found a Wildebeest in Dick Grayson's apartment. They fought until a second Wildebeest arrived. Deathstroke fled and met with Steve Dayton. They found Golden Eagle's body and headed to the location where Jericho was abducted. Afterwards, the duo got some information from the Titans' computer system (where a Wildebeest watched). Deathstroke met up with another Wildebeest who was looking for Donna Troy. This one self-detonated when cornered.
He and Dayton found out that Aqualad's body had been found.


The New Titans #73

Subtitle: Paradise Lost

Storyline: Dayton and Wilson got Aqualad to a hospital in time. They notified STAR Labs and left him in good hands. Deathstroke went to Arella's ranch, where he found she was the only survivor of a Wildebeest attack.
Wildebeests 8 and 14 (the same two who'd fought Deathstroke earlier) were sent to DC to capture Danny Chase. One blasted him after they'd underestimated his powers. No body was left.
Deathstroke and Arella arrived and fought until a creature with little substance calling itself the Phantasm stopped them. W-8 and W-14 escaped back to their group to notify the council.


The New Titans #74

Subtitle: When Pantha Strikes

Storyline: Arella, Deathstroke, and Dayton spoke atop the Tower while Phantasm watched.
W-8 and W-14 were questioned in their camp. 8 went rogue and sever others were sent to capture him. He killed 9 and took his identity.
Elsewhere, X-24 - a part woman, part beast - attacked a group of Wildebeests. She killed one before escaping. She later stopped a mugging.
W-14 began snooping around the operation causing the inner circle to question him. A group was sent to bring him in for questioning. He was revealed to be Nightwing. One of the Wildebeests knew his name was "Grayson."
Deathstroke confronted X-24 when he found her with part of Nightwing's costume. She escaped and met up with Phantasm.
The Titans with powers were going to be used to make more creatures like X-24.


The New Titans #75

Subtitle: Countdown to Doomsday

Storyline: Nightwing was taken before Wildebeest 1. He showed the Titan his friends - they had all been cryogenically frozen. He saw his teammates and several former / inactive Titans. Nightwing lunged at him and removed his helmet.
Deathstroke ditched Dayton and Arella and hopped in a helicopter. He saw X-24 and Phantasm being attacked by Wildebeests. His copter was overtaken by them and crashed. He was sucked under water and into their stronghold. He fought his way through and saw Nightwing unmask #1 - it was his son, Joe, the Titan Jericho.
Arella followed Pantha into the Wildebeest stronghold. She was able to used one of them to lead her to their leader. She saw Deathstroke laying at his son's feet with Nightwing nearby. Nightwing attacked him again. Deathstroke tried to get Arella away, but he was recaptured.
X-24, inside the stronghold, saw a reflection of herself and freaked out. Memories began to rush back.
Phantasm got inside in time to see Joe Wilson - Wildebeest 1 - launch the canisters holding the Titans. One exploded.


The New Titans #76

Subtitle: Tower of the Damned

Storyline: Nightwing, Phantasm, Deathstroke, Pantha (X-24), and Arella escaped and headed back to Titans' Tower. The Wildebeest stronghold was destroyed by Jericho.
Back home, Nightwing learned that the exploded rocket had landed in Russia. The Wildebeests attacked the Tower. The group boarded the T-Jet and lifted off as the entire building exploded.


The New Titans #77

Subtitle: Red Star Rising

Storyline: New York was in flames, but no casualties had been reported. The T-Jet headed to Russia to follow the only clue they had - the crashed rocket.
Red Star took the rocket and its inhabitant to Science City. Upon landing, Deathstroke found a location of the rocket, then information on where it was taken.
Elsewhere, Jericho cut his throat and palm.
Red Star took Nightwing and his group inside to see Cyborg. They were able to save him, but he was little more than machine. His memories were gone - the Russian tech was not at the level STAR Labs was. They refused to hand him over as most of him was now Russian-owned parts.


The New Titans #78

Subtitle: Mind Over Machine

Artists(s): Tom Grummett, Al Vey
Storyline: Joseph Wilson looked over the bodies of his former teammates - he'd only sent out one rocket - the Titans were all still alive. He killed W-8 when he asked too many questions.
Donna and Terry returned from Greece to find the Tower in ruins.
Red Star convinced his people to let him return to the US with Cyborg and the others. There, they contacted Donna. Wildebeests attacked and captured Nightwing. Donna was taken by other forces.


The New Titans #79

Subtitle: Prelude

Storyline: Jericho painted some of the devastation he'd caused. He killed another Wildebeest who asked questions.
The group headed to Dayton's property where they could form a new plan of attack. Another group appeared to be tracking the Titans.
New York City was preparing a lawsuit against the Titans for the property destruction.
Aqualad's treatment took a turn for the worse.
Jericho brought Nightwing to the lab where he began the "transference procedure" on the Titans with powers.


The New Titans annual 7

Subtitle: 2001: A Titans Odyssey

Storyline: [note: takes place while Nightwing is unconscious in #79]
Waverider, a time traveler going back to find the man who becomes a tyrant in his time chooses Nightwing to investigate. Through touch, he visited Nightwing's future:
Nightwing led one of the Titans teams against Lord Chaos, who was drugging Earth's population to keep them content and docile. After taking down some of his operation, Chaos was revealed to be the son of Donna Troy. Nightwing continued to believe his old team was still alive, but all evidence pointed to their deaths at the hands of the Wildebeests in 1991.
Upon learning Chaos' origins, the Titans' leader sent the group back to 1991 (current time) to kill Donna Troy. Chaos was too powerful to be killed.

Storyline: Before being sent back in time, the Titans (without Nightwing) did battle against Lord Chaos with the other Titans teams. The mad god followed them back to 1991 after learning their plan.

Storyline: Lilith contacted Terry about Donna. They all returned to the Troy / Long home where they found Lilith with Pariah (from Crisis on Infinite Earths). He expressed his happiness that the universe would soon be destroyed and he would never have to see any more destruction and death.
Deathstroke and Terry finally got through to him and he told them Donna was on another plane - on New Olympus.
New Olympus appeared in the sky outside their window.
