| Storyline |
Robin was on his first solo
while Bruce was in Rio. He answered the batsignal to learn from Gordon
that Joker had escaped Arkham. Joker easily ousted Mr. Freeze and gained
his old gang back. Robin examined Joker's cell and found a stockpile of
computer magazines. Joker kidnapped a computer genius while Robin watched.
Robin began going out of his way to convince Gotham City that Batman was
in town and on patrol. Joker set forth his plans to bring down Gotham City
with a computer virus, starting at the phone company. Though confused
about Robin being alive, he was able to evade the Boy Wonder when he
decided to make a public appearance. Joker realized Batman was gone. Robin
tried to hack Joker's program, and got hacked himself. He was forced to
shut down the Batcave's computers. Joker made demands of the city. They
gave him his $1 billion in a red semi driven by Batman parked on a bridge
as he asked (actually, it was newspaper driven by remote control with a
dummy Batman inside). Joker blew up the bridge. Robin struck while he was
looking at "Batman's" remains. He captured him and gave the
madman over to the police. The SWAT team went into Joker's hideout, saved
his hostage, and destroyed his computers. |
