storyline Robin and Spoiler investigated. An armored truck carrying old money to be destroyed was snatched by Cluemaster and his gang. Robin attacked, and was locked in the truck with Cluemaster. Headbanger and Electrocutioner began covering the truck with cement.

storyline Spoiler staked out Electrocutioner and Headbanger. Sheriff "Shotgun" Smith broke in on them. They escaped and led Spoiler back to the truck. Not knowing where Cluemaster was, they began unearthing the truck. Spoiler stopped them and saved her father and Robin.

Robin got Huntress back to her apartment and they agreed to meet the next night. They broke in on a mob shoot-out; a masked man in a priest's outfit was attempting to stop a could-be boss (Mandy Paul) from taking over. Robin went to check out Paul's alibi and was caught by DeathAngel.

Bruce (now completely healed) and Tim awaited the arrival of Jack Drake at the airport. Bruce told Tim he was serious about retiring as Batman - he wanted to focus on Bruce Wayne. After they got Tim's father home and into bed, Tim told him about Abattoir. Bruce was furious when he saw the condition of his home. They went into the cave and were attacked by Az-Bat, who told them not to be there when he returned. Robin gave chase, but the madman escaped. Bruce told Robin he'd have to take Jean Paul down, but he had to get physically fit first.

Shiva arrived and congratulated Bruce for killing. He officially "graduated" her course. As soon as she left with the bat mask, the dead sensei awakened. Az-Bat came ashore after the explosions on the Navy dock; Bullock and Montoya were on the scene. Shiva returned to the ninja sect and attacked. She left one alive so that he could tell the rest the game was over. Bruce returned to the cave to meet Dick and Tim. Bane awakened from his catatonic state - he knew Batman had returned. Bruce once again put on the suit.

Robin arrived back at the cave. Bruce told him he had things to think about and left. Tim returned home and spent some time with his father and girlfriend, Ariana. That night, he responded to the Batsignal - a museum robbery was in progress. Batman beat him there. Together once again, Batman and Robin took down the thieves and left them for Gordon's men.

storyline Robin (Tim Drake) investigated a jewel robbery. Robin (Dick? Jason?) showed up and gave him a hand in a fight. He told Tim he should leave the crime-fighting to Batman and the real Robin. Tim checked his prints and he was Dick Grayson. He tried to explain to his counterpart what had been recently going on while en route to catch the jewel thief. They caught up with him, but he lost them in an animal exhibit. They caught him after he tried to fake his death; Robin (Dick) vanished into thin air.

storyline Nightwing and Robin went out hunting together. Tim asked Dick about his beginnings. Reluctantly, Nightwing told Robin of his first encounter with Two-Face. The former Harvey Dent had Batman and his successor D.A. in nooses. Robin was able to cut the D.A. free, but he still fell into water and drowned. Batman escaped and they took Two-Face down. Tim and Dick then talked about Jason and Tim's own beginnings as Robin. When it was time, they swooped in and took down the safe-crackers they'd been staking out. They returned to the cave; Dick agreed to be Batman while Bruce took some time off.

Tim went to make up with Ariana. Two-Face's gang took out a room full of over a dozen lawyers. Batman and Robin investigated the victims and looked for a pattern. They were ready and waiting when Dent set forth his "binary" plans to wreak havoc on the city's computer systems.
