| Storyline |
Tim Drake
journeyed to Paris to train under martial arts master, Rahul Lama. He
learned the healing arts from the aging master, while learning combat from
his grandson. He went out as Robin after what appeared to be a street gang
calling themselves the Ghost Dragons. He saved a man from the gang while
being watched by Lady Shiva. The defeated gang reported back to their
boss, Sir Edmond Dorrance (aka Kingsnake). Henri Ducard, who taught Batman
to be a detective (see Blind Justice - Detective 598-600), was
hired to track and kill Kingsnake. The man Robin saved turned out to be a
rogue DEA agent named Clyde Rawlins. Shiva got to them before the Ghost
Dragons destroyed their hideout. Shiva joined the team for her own reasons
- it was rumored Dorrance was the most dangerous man alive; she was the
most dangerous woman alive. Rawlins was after Dorrance because he killed
the agent's wife and kids. Shiva revealed that she'd met other Robins (Jason
Todd for sure - A Death In The Family). With Shiva's knowledge and
Robins computer expertise, they learned that Dorrance was out to uncover a
long forgotten Nazi plague bomb. They tracked possible locations, but were
too late on the right one. The Ghost Dragons made off with half the
plague; Robin, Shiva, and Rawlins destroyed the rest in a fire. They
trailed the Dragons to Hong Kong, where Ducard already had Kingsnake under
surveillance. Shiva continued Robin's education of martial arts. Rawlins
became hasty and went in for Dorrance. He was no match for the blind man
and was killed with little effort. Robin got into Kingsnake's fortress
quickly and quietly, but too late to save Rawlins. Using surprise
techniques, he downed Kingsnake. Shiva pressed him to kill him, but Robin
refused and left Dorrance to Shiva. Ducard found Robin and told him of
cargo that Dorrance had recently shipped en route to Gotham City. Back
home, Batman watched his new protege destroy the crates of money shipped
in by Kingsnake. |
