His first night there, he saw the False Facers attacking Freddy Minh's house (who was his first suspect). He caught up to the False Facers and was knocked into the river handcuffed to a refrigerator. He escaped. The police were not happy to have their own vigilante; Nightwing was cuffed and taken into custody when he tried to return Minh's stolen property.
