| Storyline |
On a
rooftop, Gordon recounted his last days in Chicago to Batman. When he
turned in some bad cops to internal affairs, they tried to kill him. He
barely escaped and was helped by a man claiming to be working for the
government who was tracking Gordon's attackers. The bad cops formed an
alibi by killing a baglady and pinning it on an informant, who was shot
dead in "self-defense." Gordon's gun was found at the crime
scene and was discovered to be the murder weapon. That night, he broke
into Davidson's (the bad cop) apartment and was spotted. The same guy
helped him out of the situation again. There was one man who could ID
Gordon as the intruder, but he was dead before the next morning. Gordon
found a mook that showed him a large amount of voting machines that
already had votes planted in them. The man also could put Davidson there
when they were tampered with. Gordon went to confront Davidson about it,
but he was shot dead through his window. Cuchulain (the "government
agent" who'd helped Gordon twice) had killed him. Due to his wounds,
he was unable to take in the assassin. Gordon was forced out of Chicago
and took a detective job in Gotham City. After telling his tale to Batman,
Gordon confessed that Cuchulain was in Gotham, and the politician mixed up
in the voting incident was now a leading Presidential candidate. Batman
refused to help Gordon catch the assassin - it would free up some demons
if Gordon could take him down by himself, and he did just that. |
