| storyline |
In
the bottled city of Kandor, Supergirl got a tattoo
on her upper back. As she was leaving, she was approached
by three unsavory looking aliens. There appeared
to be a schism between the "saved" (Kryptonians)
and the "damned" (other aliens).
Nightwing (Power Girl in an armored outfit) ordered
them to release her. Kara threw her primary attacker
through a wall and confronted the rest. As she was
about to deliver eye blasts to the final attacker,
Nightwing (PG) saved him by standing between them.
She flew Kara back to their hideout. Karen decided
it was time for them to leave Kandor - Kara was
losing her temper far too frequently. Kara refused
to go, hoping to find her way back to Argo (her
Kryptonian home). Since she truly believed she could
find her way home, Karen agreed to help her as soon
as they'd completed their mission.
Nightwing (PG) and Flamebird (SG) broke up a religious
rally (the "true" Kryptonians were forcing
other aliens into their servitude). They took down
the false followers of Kal-el and released their
prisoners. The "true" children realized
the fake Nightwing and Flamebird were also Kryptonian
as Supergirl's tattoo (in Kryptonese) was visible
after her armor was damaged. |

| storyline |
The
leader of Kandor's religion decided the Kryptonian
heretics Nightwing and Flamebird must be saved or
destroyed.
While showering, Kara fought off memories of Krypton
and Kal-el. Karen interrupted her and told her she
would not allow her to leave if she crossed the
line and took a life.
The tattoo artist who'd Kara had used was questioned
by the leader. He broadcast a message to the heretics:
100 would be killed each hour until they'd turned
themselves in. The duo swooped down to save some
aliens, but one was a decoy and exploded. Flamebird
(SG) attacked the leader and saw him as Kal-el.
She remembered Krypton and being given the order
to kill her cousin (which is why she left Metropolis
in the first place). She unmasked before him and
they kissed. |

Nightwing
(Power Girl) was set to be executed. Kara had been
brainwashed by the "queen." She visited
her husband-to-be, who was basking in yellow sun
lamps.
Kara broke free of the mind control, attacked Kal-el,
and freed Karen. She spared Kal-el when his mother
promised she could give her Argo City. |

Power
Girl found herself fighting Supergirl above the
Statue of Liberty. Supergirl had broken them out
of Kandor. They argued over whether or not it was
their fight in the first place.
Kara went out with Boomerang, Jr. They talked, danced,
played pool, and flew to Japan for sushi.
She thought of Wonder Girl and the time she'd spent
at the Kent farm. She'd sold a Kryptonian device
which would scan its owner and rewrite his / her
flawed genetic code to Batman for $1million.
After being walked home, she saved a young girl
from being hit by a truck. She and Cassie (Wonder
Girl) had a crying bit. |

| Notes,
references to time, and chronology: |
| |
As
issue 6 opens, Kara and Karen have been in Kandor for one
month. |
|
The Kal-el of Kandor is the Ultraman
of a world destroyed in one of the Crises. His "mother"
is the mother from Superman / Batman arc where time travel
is involved. |
|
In issue 9, Kara is twice referred to
as being 16 years old by Boomer. |
