Hawkman
and Hawkgirl found a phoenix. Adam Strange appeared.
After helping them take down the beast, Strange
said he'd been looking for them and asked for their
help. His home planet, Rann, had been hidden by
a power hungry woman. He'd defeated her, but as
she died, she teleported Rann to the Polaris system.
Thanagar had been destroyed due to the orbit problems
caused by Rann appearing. Though Rann saved as many
Thanagarians as possible, war was imminent.
Strange used his Zeta beam to teleport them to Rann.
War had already started.
On Earth, Green Lanterns Kyle Rayner and Kilowog
watched the stars from a mountain. Kyle was given
orders to stop a blockade of Ancar and to stay out
of the Rann-Thanagar War.
Strange and the Hawks learned that the Thanagarian
refugees rose up at the same time the planet was
attacked. |

plotting to destroy them once they were victorious.
Their banquet was ambushed.

Hawks and told them she'd been trying to negotiate
peace. They vowed to work together to defeat the
Seven Devils. They made it back to Rann.

Onimar
Synn escaped Captain Comet and Green Lantern by
having his ship throw off the life support pods.
The heroes were forced to save his victims and let
him go.
Tigorr, Starman, and their group stopped the insurgence
on Throneworld and destroyed the Zeta Beam (after
getting Tigorr offworld), so the planet would be
of no use to the Thanagarian invaders.
Thanagarian headquarters was taken by Adam Strange,
Komand'r, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Hawkwoman. They
then received word of Onimar Synn's attack.
Comet and GL found a tomb of Thanagarians in suspended
animation - they were to be food for Synn. Kilowog
arrived and helped them get the victims to safety.
The Hawks and their group found Onimar Synn had
captured Thanagar's Grand Mor (leader). They realized
to gain support, they'd have to free him. |

Tigorr
and some Khund mercenaries arrived in time to save
Adam Strange's wife, daughter, and father-in law.
Captain Comet left Thanagar after Kyle and Kilowog
got it somewhat livable for the survivors. They
began energizing life which would create other life.
The Hawks used Komand'r as their "prisoner"
to get to the cell where the Thanagarian leader
was being held. Once there, Komand'r double-crossed
them and grabbed the man herself. She killed Shayera
(Hawkwoman) in the process.
Adam Strange's family got to the place where they
housed the Zeta Beams.
Captain Comet saved Strange and the Hawks from Synn
by causing him to be hit by an avalanche. He got
them to Strange's family and sent Shayera's body
into the sun Polaris. Onimar Synn and his troops
neared their hidden stronghold. |
