Beetle - Ted Kord - spoke with Oracle about the
money that was being siphoned from his accounts.
He and Booster Gold met with Maxwell Lord. He told
them to go to WayneTech. In the cave, after asking
Beetle to leave, Batman spoke with Alfred about
the mind wipes (including his own).
When another of Kord's warehouses was broken into,
he asked Oracle for help. Members of the JLA, JSA,
Outsiders, and Titans all pitched in to help. He
told Superman that 100 pounds of Kryptonite had
been stolen. After everyone left, Beetle was attacked
by the Madmen. Booster arrived in costume and ran
them off.
Calculator, who'd set himself up as a sort of Oracle
for the "bad guys," spoke with Luthor.
He, Talia, Black Adam, Deathstroke, Dr. Light, and
Captain Cold met.
Booster and Beetle attempted to find the 'paper
trail' on the money which hired the Madmen. Kord's
home was struck by lightning. Beetle followed his
magic scarab, which led him underground to the wizard
Shazam. The old man told him things were at work
far bigger than he could understand. Beetle appeared
on the streets above, without his scarab. He called
for his bug, and it exploded. Wonder Woman treated
his wounds and assured him she was on his side.
Adam Strange contacted the Watchtower: Thangar was
attacking Rann. Beetle tracked a 'bug' that had
been planted on him back to the Swiss Alps. Inside
the stronghold, he found a database with most every
detail on the major players of superherodom (Batman,
Superman, Wonder Woman, etc.). His file was marked
"deceased."
Maxwell Lord burst in with Checkmate agents. After
hearing their plan (to stop the major metas), Beetle
ran. Max shot him in the face when he refused to
join.
