Storyline Catwoman woke up at a crime scene - everone else was dead of gunshot wounds. Television news reported that she was in possession of a gun with smart technology making it so the gun never missed. She had no memories of that night. She found a news reporter and began telling him her story.
She recounted hearing of a new score that had arrived in Gotham City which made her mouth water. She hit all the local dives looking for it, but came up empty. She'd heard that Pike Peavy, king of thieves, was also after it. She learned that the score was actually a gun with heat-seeking technology. She took up with a boy who seemed to have some information on the gun. He took her to a family that was in the gun making business. They offered her $2million for the gun so they could steal its design.
Batman caught up with her and tried to convince her to hand the gun over to him once she got it. He convinced her to help him out on a mission. They took down some gun runners together, but she kept to her own about the score and split.
As Catwoman finalized the deal and met with her crew, Batman warned Pike Peavy. Her crew got in behind two others. They all converged on the gun. One of her men double-crossed her and ended up on Peavy's team. The other member grabbed the gun and got trigger happy. She finally began to remember - she got behind the shooter (who was a big man). He absorbed the bullets meant for her. Peavy's team escaped when their bullets hit a light fixture above them.
Catwoman said her goodbyes to the reporter and scampered off. Since everyone was out for her blood, she easily got the $2million without even having to produce the gun. She came across her crew member who double-crossed her, Chase. He said he was Peavy's son and took her to him. Peavy told him he was in league with the gun's manufacturer. He got his wish - to die in a shootout. Before doing so, he called the police and cleared Catwoman. She turned the gun over to Batman.
