storyline The train Black Canary was on went through a Boom Tube and crashed in Apokolips. Canary and Catwoman went looking for someone to get them home. They cornered the parademon that got them there - he wanted the meta-human criminals to help in the revolt against his oppressors. The Marshals let loose their prisoners in hopes they'd help.

storyline The Marshals and their prisoners waged war with parademons. On earth, Power Girl learned of the train's disappearance through the Boom Tube. Canary's parademon stole a device and opened them a new passage. Everyone except a few Marshals who'd been killed returned home safely.

storyline Barbara went to a techie convention to meet her email buddy, who turned out to be Ted Kord (the Blue Beetle). Barbara ended up telling him she knew who he was, and he deduced that she was Oracle. Dinah became concerned out her next-door neighbor, who came home with a black eye. She later killed her abusive boyfriend. Jason Bard came looking for Barbara while she was out; Dick Grayson was there helping fix the place up. The Joker arrived as a diplomat from Qurac on a mission of peace.

storyline Joker, back in Arkham Asylum, was questioned by Oracle behind opaque glass. She asked him about his UN speech, where he stated ten million people in New York would die if the US didn't back out of Qurac. Oracle raised the glass to show him that he wasn't in Arkham, but in Brooklyn - Black Canary and Power Girl had grabbed him as he left the UN building. Oracle contacted the Feds about the warheads preparing for launch against New York.

storyline Power Girl and Black Canary found the ship with the nuke. Six were launched when they boarded. Power Girl was able to stop three of them, but one of the three remaining had the nuke. Oracle contacted the Pentagon again. They reluctantly gave her access to their systems. She was able to knock down the remaining three, the last using a satellite.

storyline Babs and Robin finished up work on a new virtual reality project. Dick came over with flowers and a pizza. Ted Kord, former Blue Beetle, arrived shortly thereafter. Robin, having never met the Beetle, locked Dick in the VR room. Jason Bard also arrived, still temporarily blind. Barbara met him at the door and they went for a walk - Jason never knew his former fiance was paralyzed. Dinah was captured by Brutale and Lady Vic.

storyline Alfred's van, carrying Nightwing and Robin followed Blockbuster's entourage. Blockbuster put Black Canary (believing she was Oracle), Lady Vic, Grim, and Deathstroke on a plane to Africa - he needed a donor heart soon, and one of Grodd's intelligent apes was his only chance. Oracle helped Dinah be technologically convincing.

storyline After parachuting into the jungle, the group was attacked by a group of guerilla gorillas. Grim, Dinah, and Lady Vic were captured, Deathstroke got away. After hearing the deal - a DNA matched heart for a cut of Blockbuster's profits in Bludhaven, Grodd locked them up and searched for a match. Babs called Blockbuster (as an agent of Oracle) for help. Desmond was in desperate need of the heart, already feeling the effects of his failing.

storyline Grodd gave Dina the DNA information; she connected to Oracle. Deathstroke neared Gorilla City (Grodd had killed Slade's wife). After a match was found, Grodd ordered the humans killed. Deathstroke saved them and went for Grodd. They got the heart. Militia - Joe Gardner - swooped in and rescued Dinah and the heart. Roland Desmond was pronounced dead of respiratory failure.
