Book One
Part One, The Two Faces of Janus:
Gilda Dent visited Harvey in prison to tell him she was remarrying. He
escaped and plotted to crash the wedding. Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson
were guests at the ceremony, which was broken up by Two-Face masquerading
as the priest. He threw acid at the groom, Paul Janus, and abducted him.
He struck next at a rare book exhibit; Batman and Robin couldn't stop him.
Two-Face had a new partner - Janus. Batman learned that Janus received no
scarring from the "acid" Dent threw on him at the wedding. He
and Robin tracked them down again, and were captured.
Book Two Part One, The
Secret of Janus: They
were able to escape their death trap, but once again Two-Face slipped
away. After speaking with Gordon, Batman and Robin investigated Paul Janus'
home. At Dent's next strike, they were able to catch an escaping Janus.
With him out of the way, Two-Face went after a formula in his office (Janus
was a fertility doctor). Batman and Robin were there to capture them; the
real Janus was an innocent victim - Two-Face had been using a double.
Book One Part Two, A
Tragedy of Twins: Years
later, after hearing Gilda had given birth to twins, Harvey Dent escaped
Arkham Asylum and kidnapped them. He was quick to give a ransom to Gilda's
husband, Paul Janus. Janus was unknowingly followed by Batman and Robin
(Tim Drake). Dent did not deliver the twins and was chased off. Batman
guessed correctly on his next strike, but was knocked unconscious by his
own gas bomb.
Book Two Part Two, A Truth With Two Edges:
Robin swooped in to save Batman, but was intercepted by Two-Face's men.
Batman got free from his bindings in time to see Dent escape with his
partner. Gilda confided to Batman that the twins were Harvey's - Paul had
been unable to produce, so she used a frozen specimen from her first
husband to become impregnated. Batman tracked Robin with a homing device
and took down Dent's operation, thanks to his good side giving in when
told the children were his. |
