| Storyline |
A man
reported to Commissioner Gordon that he'd seen someone murdered on a web
cam. Batman responded to the signal after taking out some muggers. Gordon
was on the scene of the webcast - a dead man was hanging upside-down with
a snake bite on his face matching the witness's description. The witness
was broken in on and taken from his home for what he'd seen. When
Gordon was unable to reach the witness, Batman got into his abandoned
apartment. On his computer screen was another webcast death - his own.
Using the view through the windows behind the hanging man, Batman found
the location but was too late to save the man.
A few weeks later, a man in Hong Kong was killed identically to the two in
Gotham City. The police weren't quick to respond to the death of a former
gangster. Gordon told Batman when he heard the news. Batman headed
immediately to Hong Kong and met with Police Chief Yee. After being warned
by hi, he began his investigation and was promptly involved in a huge
brawl. During the fight, he learned of the gang's leader - Tiger One-Eye.
Batman met with him before retiring at day break. The murdered man's
friend watched Batman all night in awe.
Inspired by the Batman, he created a costume of his own. Batman arrived on
the site of a shootout between a gang and the police. He freed the
hostages but was overwhelmed by the gunmen. "Night-Dragon" saved
him.
Tiger One-Eye arrived after the standoff was over. Night-Dragon confessed
to Batman that the gang lord and chief of police were brothers, and his
uncles. While Batman visited Chief Yee the next day, he received an email
with a web link. The link was to the next webcast death. There were two
killed this time - one of Yee's men, and one of Tiger's men (Tiger also
got the email and viewed the deaths). For the next three nights, the
police (under command of Yee), the unified Triads (under command of Tiger
One-Eye) and the vigilantes (Batman and Night-Dragon) shook down possible
snuff film dealers. Night-Dragon's girlfriend was taken to be the next
victim. He and Batman got to her in time. Night-Dragon's father, seemingly
back from the dead, was behind it all. His mother confessed to having him
killed (unsuccessfully). He apparently escaped the fire at his chemical
company; the body found was one of the arsonists. The other arsonist was
the first webcast victim.
Tiger One-Eye's gangs united with the police to track down Lo Pao, who was
threatening all of Hong Kong with chemical weapons. Batman watched as
Night-Dragon stopped his father. Lo Pao died again; his brothers made up. |
