investigated the murder of Senator Jack Myles and his wife
Eileen. Myles had left Gotham City after the quake and voted for
it to be removed from the nation. Due to the circumstances
(their child was the only witness to the shooting), Nightwing
requested the case solo. Batman refused him. After the
investigation, Batman got the child to confess killing his
parents. Bruce, Dick, Tim, and Alfred continued working on

Batman and Batgirl
checked on an alleged bomb aboard an oil tanker leaving Gotham
City. People had been captured during NML (and there were no
records to say if they were alive or dead) were being shipped to
the Middle East as slaves. The would-be-slaves set off their
bomb. The crew abandoned ship and locked their captives in.
Batman and Batgirl saw the explosion and set off toward it. They
were able to rescue those left onboard; Batman had to convince
Batgirl not to go down with the ship. |

attacked Batman, calling itself Sam. Later that night, Batman
went to the morgue. "Sam" awakened in another body,

The Key attacked
Arkham Asylum by locking all the doors, both inside and out.
Batman beat him brutally. Batgirl chased Batman off while Azrael
got the Key to some medical attention. Later that night, Batman
tossed a drug dealer off a rooftop, but Batgirl was able to
catch the man. The Key woke up in Arkham being guarded by Robin.
After injecting the Boy Wonder with neural anti-inhibitors, he
told him he'd done the same to his mentor. Batman went through
Azrael to get back to the Key. He gave Robin the antidote and
had the key locked away. |

Bruce Wayne had
dinner with Councilman Waldemar and Stuart Bentley. The
councilman boasted that during the last plague, he'd auctioned
off the antidote after stealing it en route to a hospital. The
only records were in a safety deposit box in a bank vault buried
in the cataclysm. Oracle got Batman to the vault, but it had
been completely looted. Babs also had a box there. Batman
followed a lead to the Penguin, who sent him another lead: the
third man at the dinner, Stuart Bentley. Batman got to him
before Penguin's men could and recovered his loot. Barbara told
Batman what was in the letter he'd recovered - it was from her
mother to James Gordon explaining that he could be her birth
father. She'd taken it from her mother before James could read
it. |

Tim got Dick to
Wayne Manor and notified Alfred. Tim and Alfred checked the
computer for leads on Strange - they refused to believe that
Bruce was dead. Nightwing went back to the scene of the crime
and found Catwoman on a rooftop. He asked her if she knew
anything, and she mentioned that he wasn't the first to ask her
about Batman recently. As Tim reported to Nightwing from the
cave, someone set off an intruder alert upstairs. When Nightwing
got there, Robin had Hugo Strange (dressed as Batman) cornered.
Strange fled; Alfred received a call from Bruce. |
