| Storyline |
Twenty years
after the destruction of Kansas (Kingdom Come), the lone human
survivor, William, erected a church and founded a faith on Superman.
Superman visited him and explained that the catastrophy was not his will,
but his fault. Later that night, William was visited by someone sent by
the Quintessence. He was given a map of history and the chance to change
things. Given powers by the Gods themselves, he sought out Superman and
killed him. He then set out to go back in time and save Kansas by
destroying Superman not only from the beginning, but from each day
throughout history. As he got back to the day of Clark and Dianna's child
was born, he was greeted by one of the linear men - those who kept the
time continuum in line. Gog took the child, renaming him Magog, and went
back further. Hunter, the linear man who first showed up, took Superman,
Batman, and Wonder Woman back with them to 1998 (against everyone's vote).
Ibn al Xu'ffasch, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia, resurected his
grandfather, Braniac (in Superman's body), and Lex Luthor in attempt to
save the world's time continuum from destruction by his father, Superman,
and Wonder Woman. Luthor and Braniac attempted to double-cross Ibn, but
were killed in the process. In a duel between grandson and grandfather,
Ra's al Ghul was bested in a sword fight and died. Nighstar, the daughter
of Robin and Starfire, Ibn (her lover) to try and stop his father,
Superman, and Wonder Woman. When she realized she couldn't do it alone,
she left her father and returned to Ibn. Kid Flash (Iris West) sought out
Nightstar as well. A former JLA member reported to Batman that his new
superhero-themed restaurant was haunted. Batman showed up and realized
that the "ghosts" were heroes from other earths that were
destroyed in the Crisis. Ibn, Nightstar, Kid Flash, and Offspring showed
up as well. The present day Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman met up with
their future counterparts and were able to take down Gog. Hunter showed
them Hypertime, which reintroduced the multiverse. |
