The new Reaper saw the real Reaper kill his father (see Year Two), stole his body, and the gun that was his father's. The new Reaper (Joe Chill's son) kidnapped the daughter of the original Reaper (who was once engaged to Bruce Wayne) and held her as bait for Batman. Robin came in and helped Batman escape and defeat the Reaper.
