[continued
from Robin 132]
Batgirl, using a tape recorder to make a journal of
her cases - both in hopes of learning language better
and for future reference, left Gotham City for Bludhaven.
She soon found Robin, who was being beat on by Shrike.
She knocked him away. He flew stars at her - she caught
one and threw it back at him, hitting him in the leg.
He attacked her with a knife, and she broke his arm.
He attacked with the good arm and she disabled him.
She picked up Robin and got him some medical care. She
told him Batman sent her to help him with combat, and
for him to help her with communication. Batgirl and
Robin met with BPD on the Blockbuster case. They were
confused when they learned Robin was a boy and Batman
was a girl. They told Bludhaven's new "Dynamic
Duo" that Blockbuster's body was missing. They
went off to search Desmond's home and found Blockbuster
himself.

[continued
from Robin 133]
Batgirl saw that Robin had a plan and went along with
it. They began their fight. Robin taunted her verbally.
He emerged victorious. They found no pulse in Batgirl.
Penguin gave him a gun to make sure it wasn't some sort
of trick. He fired on her. She got up and they began
their fight against the Penguin's goons. They fought
through them, then Brutale and the Trigger Twins.
Back at Robin's place, he dug the bullet out of her.
They talked over some tea. He admitted to meaning a
lot of the things he said to her. She admitted to wanting
to take over for Batman when he was through. They agreed
to disagree on the gang war. They parted to do things
their own way; Batgirl was excited to finally be able
to find out what her "own way" was. |

Batgirl
began training with Onyx. They connected because she
was once an assassin, like Cain. While patrolling, she
scored her first 'snitch' - a man who was recently scarred
by Batman. He gave her some info on Penguin. Alfred
joined her for lunch the next day and showed her the
place they'd gotten for her. It had a huge workout space
and connected to a subway below.
Elsewhere, Penguin made plans. |

- she could see that everything the Ravager did was

where she waited for her attacker to look at her father.
When she did, Batgirl stuck a sword to her throat. Deathstroke

Cassandra
met up with Bronze Tiger, who'd helped with her training
years before. He explained a bit to her - Ra's al Ghul
had given Cain several pupils to train a whole new League
of Assassins. The experiment failed; they tried another
- training a single instead of a league. It also failed
until they tried one with the right genetics - her.
He did not know who her mother was.
Batgirl called Oracle and met her in Detroit. She told
Barbara she needed to find Shiva and why. Canary confided
to her that Shiva wanted to use her as an apprentice.
They headed to the Balkans, where Shiva was rumored
to be working with Nyssa al Ghul.
Barbara began working with Cassandra and her reading
skills again. As they neared the destination, they dropped
Batgirl off. |
