Batgirl, who was with Batman, was told to stay put as Batman
went after the assassin. Everyone knew it was a trap. When
Batman entered the room, it exploded. Both Cain and Batman

Batgirl diffuse a suicide bomber after she'd knocked him
unconscious. Back at the Clocktower, Cassie went into the
holoroom to train (against Shiva footage). Oracle spoke with
Batman about her "death wish" - the upcoming fight
between Batgirl and Shiva. They both believed she had to know
she couldn't defeat Shiva. |

Oracle intercepted a 911 from Wayne Manor. She heard it all as
it happened - the murder of Vesper Fairchild. She sent Batgirl
in to the crime scene to be her eyes, but due to technical
difficulties, she got no video. What was believed to be the
murder weapon - a pistol - was found outside the home. Batgirl
realized for the first time that Bruce was Batman.

Spoiler saw something while on patrol. Batgirl hit her partner
with a nerve strike so she wouldn't get in the way. After taking
down the team they'd seen, Batman congratulated Batgirl for
defeating Shiva. When she offered her help, he refused it. Back
at the Clocktower, Batgirl and Oracle went over some clues. She
and Spoiler went to Fairchild's grave. She hit Spoiler again
with a nerve strike at her request. After digging up the body,
Batgirl found she'd been hit with the same nerve strike she'd
been using on Spoiler. |

up Batgirl - they planned to recreate the night of the murder. A
synthesized Bruce Wayne called and invited Fairchild over. The
killer met her at the door with the nerve strike. He took her to
the bedroom and ran Wayne's post-murder shower. He killed her
and waited for Batman to return, then placed the fake 911 call.
Due to her injuries, they realized she was beaten just enough
not to loose consciousness. |

told Batgirl they'd been tracking an archer across the country -
all the victims were either rich or politically powerful She
took them to her cave and contacted Batman. He got them a list
of possible targets - all victims were a member of the Ninth
Legion society club. The archers attacked Jack Drake (actually
Eddie impersonating him) and captured him (Fyers). Spoiler and
Robin joined the chase after they found Tim's father and got him
to safety. |
