Storyline:
Vic Sage won $4000 playing cards, and was robbed by the guy who he'd beaten. The boat they were on sank. He got away with one of the passengers on a row boat. He was later arrested attempting to hitchhike back to civilization.
While in his cell, the inmate in the next told him the river spirit wanted him to come back to Hub City. Vic had received a call from Tot that Myra was wanted for murder. He'd refused to return. The old man told him neither Vic Sage nor Szasz were needed.
The man who'd robbed him bailed him out of jail. Vic offered to help the old man, but he was the only inmate the jail had in over a month. He blamed it on a bump to the head. Outside, he put on his coat, hat, and mask. He jumped on the back of an eighteen wheeler and jumped off when it stopped. The man who'd robbed him was robbing the truck. The Question took him down and accepted a ride to Hub City from it's driver.
He got more trouble from the police once in town. The truck driver knocked him out with a wrench. When he woke up, he was a captive of Rory Limbo, and industrialist in Hub City. Cathy Fergosi was brought in to take care of the man with no face. The Question escaped. He jumped on a boat with men who were trying to recapture him. He took a couple of them down and jumped. Another took a shot at him and the chemicals that were being dumped caused an explosion.
Vic found the boat where Myra was being held. She was with "someone special" who'd rescued her from Limbo's dirty cops.
