Storyline: Oracle battled Calculator on two fronts - she was getting into and shutting down his systems while she coordinated efforts to stop his destruction.
Mary Marvel and Zatanna encountered a strange electrical storm. Deep Six was killed by the same creature that had been killing other New Gods.
Question had Batwoman let Trickster and Piper go - they were too stupid to have murdered the Flash.
Mr. Action visited Robin in hopes of joining the Titans, but Robin didn't take him seriously.

Countdown #37

Storyline: Oracle ran some tests on Karate Kid, but could not find the source of his infection. It was either too alien or too futuristic. Una mumbled something about the "great disaster." They were sent on their way to find Elias Orr, a man Oracle believed could help them.
Zatanna took Mary to her home and showed her around a bit.
In the nanoverse, the heroes encountered a group of wizards who also mentioned the "great disaster" before disappearing.
Trickster and Piper gathered fruit in a greenhouse and were captured by Poison Ivy.
Jimmy went to Clark about joining the JLA as Mr. Action - he knew Kent was Superman.

Storyline: The Palmerverse heroes were attacked by magic bugs.
Ivy held Trickster and Piper until her "partner" arrived - Deathstroke.
Mary freaked out on Zatanna and began attacking her. It appeared Eclipso was feeding her energy and magic.
Superman presented Mr. Action to the Justice League.
Karate Kid and Una arrived at the location where Orr was supposedly located. They were attacked by a hulking figure.

Storyline: The Palmerverse heroes found themselves captive of a witch queen. Bob the Monitor was under her spell. She turned Ryan into an insect.

The JLA found nothing special about Mr. Action. He failed their trials miserably.
Athena moved Holly into her gladiatorial area. There, she faced off against dozens of opponents.
Mr. Orr introduced himself to Karate Kid. He appeared to be working for Checkmate.

Storyline: Trickster and Piper were strung up by Deathstroke so they'd be captured. Batman found them and notified Flash. They told him about Deathstroke's plan to infiltrated Green Arrow's wedding, but he wasn't listening.
Jimmy Olsen went to Steelworks to see if John Henry Irons could do anything about his new abilities. Olsen overloaded the machinery Irons was testing him with.
The Palmerverse heroes were pulled into another universe while battling a witch queen.
Holly and Harley won their gladiatorial contest and were invited to Paradise Island to become full Amazons.
Mary Marvel encountered Klarion the Witchboy in China.
Orr, who was secretly working for Desaad, sent Karate Kid and Una to see Buddy Blank. Orr told them he appeared to be infected by a mutated form of the OMAC "virus."

Storyline: Flash found the chips implanted in Piper and Trickster. They were telling the truth. He had Zatanna teleport them to a safe place while he investigated Deathstroke's plan.
Green Lantern Kyle Rayner appeared in the Palmerverse and pulled Donna back through the portal she'd fallen into. He brought news from the Guardians that Ray Palmer was in the Multiverse. As they prepared to depart, Ryan Choi was plucked from them by a giant hand.
Jimmy was contacted by Cadmus agents.

Storyline: Klarion tried to take Mary Marvel's powers, but she easily shook him off. She heard a voice and followed it to the Temple of Artemis. Eclipso introduced herself.
Trickster and Piper escaped during Black Canary's bachelorette party. A mummy chased them and had to be put down by Zatanna.
Jason, Kyle, Donna, and Bob found themselves on Earth-30. A Russian version of Superman watched them.

Storyline: The Palmer-searchers battled the Crime Society on Earth-3 while Bob checked for Ray Palmer. When he returned empty-handed, they left. Jokester, who was fighting with them, left through the Monitor's portal with them. The other Monitors saw this and were appalled.
Mary and Eclipso talked and killed some guards.
Karate Kid and Una found Buddy Blank and asked him about Brother Eye and the Pseudo-People.
Cadmus tested Jimmy.

Storyline: Blank took Karate Kid and Una to Brother Eye. It detected the OMAC virus in Val.

Jimmy Olsen escaped Cadmus's testing center when something went wrong. He appeared to split into separate beings and into some sort of gaseous / liquid form.
The Palmer-searchers landed on Earth-15, a world where Zod was Superman, Jason was Batman, and Donna was Wonder Woman. Palmer was not there and they went on their way. Another Monitor began tracking them.
Athena and her new recruits neared Paradise Island. Holly and Harley were told to swim for shore in shark-infested waters.

Storyline: The Extremists brought Lord Havok their captives - the searchers. A Monitor, the one who'd killed Joker's Daughter, attacked Lord Havok's castle hoping to kill the searchers. Jokester died, but the others escaped. Monarch appeared and attempted to recruit Havok.
Jimmy Olsen was found in the sewers by his friends, the Newsboy Legion. They knew about his powers.
Holly and Harley both made it to Paradise Island.
Trickster, Piper, and Double Down (their stow-away) ate in a Rhode Island diner while being watched.
Mary Marvel and Eclipso terrorized some farmers in Turkey.
Brother Eye attacked Karate Kid and Una.

The magic community watched as Black Mary continued her attacks and Spectre-like judgment.
The Palmer-searchers attempted to escape Earth-8, but were met by Monarch's forces, which warred against Lord Havok and the Extremists.

Countdown #27

Storyline: Blanks got Val and Una into Bludhaven.
The battle between the Palmer-searchers, Monarch's group, and Lord Havok and the extremists continued. Jason stabbed one of the Extremists in the gut and took Monarch's offer to join. He didn't believe his intentions, so Todd grabbed Bob's gun and shot Donna Troy.
Jimmy joined Forager on the search for the souls of the dead New Gods.
Eclipso and Black Mary battled the Shadowpact, but fled when the tides turned against them.
The new Amazons went through another test - dogs were let loose on them.
Trickster and Piper bumped into Two-Face, who was being herded to a new location. He told them about "Salvation" - a new prison to which several big time villains had been sent.

Countdown to Final Crisis #26

Forager and Jimmy Olsen arrived on Apokolips and were attacked by Parademons.
Bob displaced the Palmer-searchers and told them Jason was causing a distraction to cover their escape by shooting Donna.
Lex Luthor was attacked by a man in a black Superman suit.


  • The title became "Countdown to Final Crisis" with number 26.
  • The Sinestro Corps war is over as of issue 33 when Kyle arrives to help Donna, Jason, and Bob with their search for Ray Palmer.
