Superman
7: Rampage
Lois Lane made a site visit to a plant which was experimenting
with bionuclear power - power was being generated from
algae. The only problem: the amount of algae doubled
every thirty seconds. One of the scientists showed off
the potential danger in shutting off the power. It caused
an explosion.
Clark Kent tried to set up an interview with Wonder
Woman by contacting a newspaper in Boston. After being
turned down, he heard an explosion and suited up. At
the plant, Superman found a huge ball of energy. He
was able to stay the fire, but could not get near the
energy bubble. His search for survivors led him to a
woman with orange skin who was about eight feet tall.
She knocked him to the ground when he approached her.
He caught her by surprise and wrapped her up in metal
sheeting.
Another survivor - the man who'd inadvertently cause
the meltdown - told Superman the woman was Lois Lane.
Superman approached her again. She'd broken free and
grown even more. She flew away; Superman gave chase.
Captain Maggie Sawyer of Metropolis PD - Special Crimes
Unit - was told that Superman was fighting what the
press was calling "Rampage." Rampage, still
growing, continued to beat on Superman. The radiation
from her touch burned him. SCU arrived and began blasting
her. Superman tried to stop them by telling them who
it was, but the real Lois was on the scene - there was
a case of mistaken identity. Rampage was actually Kitty
Faulkner, one of the scientists from the bionuclear
experiment. Superman allowed himself to absorb the energy
Kitty was emitting and she eventually reverted to human
form. Superman - supercharged - flew off. He discharged
into a storm cloud over Kansas.
Clark Kent returned to Metropolis three days later and
visited Kitty Faulkner. Lois was with her.

430: Homeward Bound
The Fearsome Five defeated Superman and made off with
some diamonds. Clark failed for the fifth time in a
week to cover his assignment. As his parents were returning
home to the surprise party he'd planned for their 49th
anniversary, Superman was going up against the Fearsome
Five again - this time on a charity cruise. Shimmer
turned the boat into ether as they made their getaway.
Superman got the passengers into lifeboats and then
to safety.
He arrived at his parents' house as all the other guests
left. He took a walk with his Pa while Ma and Lana warmed
up some soup.
The next day, he was fighting the Fearsome Five again.
With his focus on them and not his own duel identities,
he was victorious. Clark Kent got the exclusive story.
Action
590: Better Living / Dying through Chemistry
Clark fell into a chemical vat while he and Lois were
touring a reprocessing plant. Unbeknownst to anyone,
that vat contained the villain Chemo. Though it was
defeated by Negative woman previous to the CoIE, the
merging of the Earths turned it into a chemical spill.
Chemo began to imitate the cells left behind by Superman.
A few days later, Chemo formed himself as Superman (a
giant radiated Superman) and attacked Doc Magnus and
the Metal Men. When he stole Platinum, the rest of the
Metal Men gave chase. Superman freed Platinum, and she
joined with the rest of the group while the Man of Steel
went after his new dopplegangar. Working together, the
Metal Men and Superman defeated Chemo by blocking the
sunlight (Superman used his microscopic vision to learn
how Chemo had taken his powers). Tin was blown apart,
and Doc Magnus refused to fix him because they'd left
without his permission.
Legion
37: A Twist in Time
The Legion of Superheroes repaired a time machine in
hopes of stopping the Time Trapper. They ended up in
the time of Superboy. Though Smallville appeared to
be everything it was the last time they visited, they
were confused - Superman's history now showed he never
was Superboy.
They met up with the Kents at their farm, and soon Clark
returned home. He took them into the basement and blasted
them with a stasis ray. With some of the group frozen,
he headed to their time bubble to get the rest. Pete
Ross, an honorary member of the Legion, warned the rest
just in time. Superboy found them, but they escaped
in time before he could hit them with the stasis ray.
Superman
8: Future Shock
Clark was having lunch with his parents and Lana when
he heard something on the other side of Smallville.
He got into costume and flew by to check it out. He
saw four people in costume (two not human) and a space
ship. His heat vision fired without him wanting it to.
The Legion took it as an attack and fired back. He was
confused when they called him Superboy.
After Brainiac convinced the rest of his group they
weren't fighting SuperBOY, he related the story to Superman:
They were from the future and had known a Superboy in
the past. As they related their current situation, Superboy
blasted them all - including Superman - with the stasis
ray.
Action
591: Past Imperfect
Superboy gathered up the remaining members of the Legion
and headed back to his own time. Superman broke free
of the stasis beam and followed. The Time Trapper watched
as they crashed back into his pocket universe.
Superman and Superboy fought across the Smallville sky.
Krypto, Superboy's dog, joined the fight. After getting
thrown aside, Krypto went into the Kent basement and
got some gold Kryptonite - it stripped him of his powers
(forever), but Jonathan Kent had an idea with it. It
didn't work on Superman - it was from a different Krypton.
Superman broke through to Superboy and he realized he'd
never hurt his friends. They freed the Legion and decided
their course of action. Superman was dropped off at
his correct time while Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes
traveled to the end of time to battle the Time Trapper.
Legion
38: The Greatest Hero of them All
During their journey, Superboy told them the whole story.
When he'd returned home from his last adventure with
them, the skies turned red and antimatter began destroying
his world. He could do nothing to stop it, but the Time
Trapper saved his Earth from the Crisis in return for
him handing the Legion over to him.
They arrived back at Superboy's Smallville. The Legion
was in simulated stasis and came out of it to attack
the Time Trapper. Superboy accidentally destroyed the
device which was keeping his Earth safe from the antimatter.
As the chaos began to consume the Earth, the Time Trapper
told the Legion this had never been their past - it
was from another time stream that would now be destroyed
along with them. He vanished.
Superboy grabbed the device and held it together while
the Legion got into their time bubble. They tried to
pull him inside, but he closed the door behind them
and threw the bubble into the future. When they arrived
in their own time, Superboy was outside their bubble,
but died in Mon-el's arms.

431: They Call him Doctor Stratos
Superman stopped a group who was ripping off a charity
event. They said they were from Gotham City trying to
get away from the Batman. Elsewhere, a man claiming
to be son of Greek Gods continued to control the weather.
Lois blew up on Cat and Clark, then stormed off.
Dr. Stratos made his presence known to the President
and promised his demands would come soon. The President
contacted Superman. Stratos, from his satellite (he
didn't have real powers - yet), attacked the Man of
Steel while he flew over London. Superman continued
to fight the weather until he realized what controlled
it must be in orbit. He found the satellite and the
Earthly location which was controlling it. Stratos ordered
a lightning bolt for him, but it struck the "god"
instead. Stratos fell into the sea.
Superman was unable to save him, but continued on to
his mission of dismantling the command center and satellite.
