Tim,
after putting on the costume for the first time,
admitted his fears to Bruce. Bruce still believed
in him. Alfred gave him a bit more confidence
before driving him to the airport. After visiting
his father in the hospital and his mother's grave,
Tim boarded a plane for Paris. There, he learned
under the Rahul Lamas, an ancient Tibetan martial
artist / healer, and his grandson, Shen Chi.
In Tokyo, Shiva questioned Koroshi San about the
man who defeated him: "King Snake."
After three weeks of class, Tim got into some
trouble. A girl he met in a club got snatched
away from him by some guys she knew. Tim got into
costume and went looking for them. Robin saved
a guy they were beating up and the two faced off
against the gang. Lady Shiva watched.

Robin
and Clyde Rawlins were able to chase off the
gang. They headed back to their master, Sir
Edmond Dorrance and told their tale. He ordered
his Ghost Dragons to kill them both.
Henri Ducard was hired to kill Dorrance, aka
the King Snake.
The next morning, Rawlins woke up in a hotel
room with Tim watching over him. He told the
boy he was DEA and working undercover. Shiva
appeared and got them to safety before the Ghost
Dragons arrived and shot up their room.
After their latest failure, Dorrance promoted
Lynx (the girl Robin tried to save) to the leader
of the gang.
Rawlins came clean to Robin - the Ghost Dragons
had killed his wife and kids, but always got
off due to Dorrance's diplomatic immunity. Shiva
watched the two spar outside a farmhouse Robin
had rented.

Shiva
introduced herself and mentioned meeting Batman
and him being the "latest little Robin."
Shiva had Robin search for a WWII Nazi lab.
He found it nearby in France. They found it;
Shiva disappeared. Robin and Clyde went in and
someone opened fire on them. Robin was captured
and taken to Lynx, but as soon as she got him,
bats (awakened by the gunfire and explosions)
swarmed. Robin and Clyde escaped, but the Ghost
Dragons' plague weapon was moved and en route
for delivery. Shiva kept them from taking one
of the two containers.
Lynx reported back to Dorrance that they'd secured
one of the containers and that the boy and Rawlins
would no longer haunt them.
Robin found out what they had - black death: the
Bubonic Plague.

Robin
and his group set up shop in Hong Kong. They
shook down some Ghost Dragons and were told
the location of King Snake's secret landing
strip.
Dorrance was displeased with Lynx when he learned
the DEA agent and the boy were still alive.
He'd also learned the boy was the Batman's partner.
As they waited and prepared, Shiva taught Robin.
He picked a collapsible bowstaff as a weapon;
she belittled him for his non-lethal choice.
Dorrance discussed his plan - his people had
built Hong Kong, and he did not want the Chinese
taking it over. He'd rather destroy it.
Robin got schematics of Dorrance's tower, while
unknown to them, Henri Ducard also staked it
out. Ducard was spotted and picked up by Dorrance's
security. They opened fire on him, but he took
them both down and crashed their cruiser into
the bay.
Robin's next workout with Shiva was much better
- he carved a notch into his bowstaff so it
would whistle. The sound took her by surprise
and he got a few good connections with it.

Clyde
didn't care for the waiting game and went in
for Dorrance without Shiva and Robin. Shiva
explained to Robin that he died with his family
anyway. He got to Dorrance as Robin got to the
plague weapon. Once it was disabled, he headed
upstairs. Rawlins was dead; King Snake knew
he was in the room. Robin was able to use his
whistling staff to catch Dorrance off-guard.
He kicked him through a window. Dorrance held
on for his life as Shiva ordered Robin to deliver
the killing blow. He refused and collected Clyde's
body, leaving Dorrance to Shiva.
On his way out, Robin bumped into Ducard. The
bounty hunter told him that one of Dorrance's
ships was on its way to Gotham City. Back home,
Robin attacked the ship and scattered Dorrance's
wealth across the harbor. He handled a few Ghost
Dragons, including Lynx, who was missing an
eye due to her last failure with King Snake.
Batman watched his new partner emerge victorious
from the harbor incident. The two swung away together.
