Nightwing
engaged some smugglers and was joined by Speedy. Together,
they made quick work of the operation and got the
suspects to the NYPD. Roy needed to talk, so they
headed back to the Tower. He needed help on a case
and asked Dick - not the rest of the Titans - to join
him going after Cheshire (the mother of his child).
She had taken a contract to assassinate some ambassadors
and stop a treaty from being signed.
As they arrived in Washington, DC, Nightwing told
Speedy about how his partnership with Batman had ended.
They met their contact and got the case information.
Cheshire set up as a sniper for her first hit. When
she noticed the two Titans, she altered her aim and
put Speedy in her sights.
Also contains stories featuring Green Lantern, The
Phantom Stranger, Superman, Catwoman, and Black Canary.

Cheshire
took her shot - at her target, not at her former lover.
Nightwing caught a sight of her in time to save the
ambassador, but another man was hit. Speedy hit her
gun with an arrow and went after her. Nightwing, knowing
Roy was no match for her, intervened. Cheshire tossed
a bomb, which Nightwing was able to redirect over
the bridge so no one was hurt in the explosion.
Back at the hotel, Roy told Dick how he'd met Cheshire:
working under cover in Japan, she was part of his
target. He left Japan not knowing she was pregnant.
The ambassador was killed - Cheshire had booby-trapped
his shower with gas. While Nightwing investigated,
Speedy met up with his once-lover.
Also contains stories featuring Green Lantern, Phantom
Stranger, Superman, Catwoman, and Black Canary. |

Cheshire
struck again - another ambassador, making it four
in four weeks. She also killed his three guards. Nightwing
met Lord Hill in London. He and his people still had
no clue who'd hired Cheshire.
Jade (Cheshire's civilian identity) went home to spend
some time with her daughter. Speedy got some information
on who'd supplied arms to her. He called Dick to let
him know where to meet up. He realized Dick was suspicious.
Dick called the Titans. They told him Roy had been
fired from his CBI job months ago (he'd told Dick
it was a CBI mission).
Also contains stories featuring Green Lantern, Blackhawk,
Wild Dog, Superman, and Black Canary. |

Speedy
got into Cheshire's home, but was spotted by her teacher,
Wen Cheng. Cheng knocked Roy unconscious.
Nightwing visited New Scotland Yard and learned why

roughed up. Before the man could talk, Cheshire killed
him. She then attacked Nightwing and got the upper
ground.

Nightwing
was able to get a tracking device on Cheshire, and
he escaped. Working with MI-5, Nightwing followed
her car in a helicopter.
Roy told Jade he came to see his daughter - it had
been almost a year and the next day was her birthday.
He pleaded with her, but she refused and began to
beat him. Nightwing burst through a window. Speedy
broke free as they fought. Cheshire slashed him with
her poisoned fingernails and ran.
