| storyline |
Superman,
Batman, and Wonder Woman spoke with Wildcat, Green
Lantern (Scott), and Flash (Garrick) about reforming
the Justice Society.
Mr. America (former FBI special agent Trey Thompson)
was called in on a case - his wife and two children
were found dead - poisoned.
Alan, Jay, and Ted discussed who they would invite
to join the new Justice Society. Wildcat wandered
off - he wasn't interested in choosing, he left
that up to Green Lantern and Flash.
Hourman and Liberty Belle approached Damage after
watching him take down Rebel. Though his father
was a founding member (the Atom), he wasn't interested.
The Teen Titans and Freedom Fighters had already
tried to get him to join their own teams. He gave
them a shot when they picked up the tab for a police
cruiser he'd destroyed.
Mr. America went looking for Catalyst, a metahuman
capable of creating chemicals, after learning the
poison was organic. He found Catalyst, but not before
he'd killed his brother and his sister-in-law.
Mr. Terrific and Power Girl tracked down Maxine
Hunkel (granddaughter of Ma Hunkel, the first Red
Tornado). She'd recently developed powers over the
wind. They offered her membership to the JSA and
promised to help her master her new skills. She
was overjoyed.
The new Starman saved hundreds of lives from an
explosion, then returned to his padded cell. Dr.
Mid-Nite and Stargirl visited his doctor. She said
he'd admitted himself to their care due to hearing
voices. He was borderline schizophrenic. He asked
Dr. Mid-Nite if he could help him.
Mr. America moved in on the men who'd hired Catalyst.
Someone approached him from behind.
Maxine met her grandmother (the caretaker of the
JSA HQ), and was introduced to the team. They began
orientation.
Mr. Terrific was thrown through the skylight of
JSA HQ.
Flash and Green Lantern showed Wildcat the son he
never knew he had. |

Wildcat
walked up to his son. Tom had known who he was for
years. The guys got the call about Mr. America -
he was dead on the scene. Starman, who had problems
with murder scenes, flipped out. His power began
working in reverse - everything in the room began
falling upward. Power Girl calmed him down; one
of the voices told him about a "lightning storm."
Ted went into Tom's home. His mother had died the
previous year - she only met Ted once. The boy seemed
to have no interest in having Wildcat be his father.
Stargirl took Maxine into the dressing room so she
could make a costume.
Hawkman crashed into a family reunion. He was doing
battle against the Fourth Reich. They were going
after bloodlines - women and children.
Starman finished / proved one of Mr. Terrific's
theories. |

Maxine
finished her costume and introduced herself as Cyclone.
The Fourth Reich finished off Commander Steel's
family and moved on - Hawkman could not take them
all by himself. He did take the JSA a survivor who'd
come into contact with Reichmark's liquid metal.
Sand called everyone into the meeting room - he'd
had a nightmare. He told them other families had
been obliterated, and they all headed out to stop
more bloodshed among their own.
Vandal Savage broke into Tom Bronson's apartment
and attacked Wildcat. Tom freaked out and turned
into a large cat-like creature. |

Tom
pounced on Vandal Savage. Savage cut a gas line
and blew up the place. The two kept him busy until
the fire department arrived - Ted then threw him
in front of their truck.
Damage disobeyed orders and blew up on Reichmark.
Jesse Quick was hurt in the blast. Damage's mask
was removed during battle and his scarred face was
exposed. They banded together and took down the
Nazis.
After the battles, Ted brought his son to HQ. Power
Girl accepted the position of chairwoman (Mr. Terrific
could no longer do it because of his duties with
Checkmate). Wildcat introduced his son to the team
as Wildcat, saying if there could be multiple Flashes
and Green Lanterns, there could be two Wildcats.
Mr. America's former partner was dismissed from
the FBI after they found out he was their leak.
He took Trey's mask and costume. |
