Hal
had a strange dream about Abin Sur - instead of getting
the ring from him, the alien attacked him. He had a
few beers with his partners Cowgirl and Rocket-man,
the two he'd spent time together with as POW in Chechnya.
They later found out their captors had been found and
Cowgirl was sent on a mission to shut them down. The
air force had lost contact with her.
Hal put on his ring and went to find her. The Rocket
Red Brigade saw him enter Russian airspace and find
her wreckage. Green Lantern began blowing through his
former captors' base. The Global Guardians appeared
and called back to the UN that GL had killed two dozen
of their prisoners.
Amon Sur got word that Jordan was being captured - he
wanted his father's ring back. |

One
of the Guardians retrieved the head of Hank Henshaw
from space sector 3601 in hopes of learning about the
52.
The Global Guardians attacked Hal - it was the seventh
time he'd violated the Freedom of Power Treaty. Two
"Faceless Hunters" ambushed and nabbed Jordan.
They appeared to be mind-controlling the Global Guardians.
Amon Sur got word and closed in on the location - he
wanted to be near Jordan when he died so that he would
be picked by the ring as his replacement.
In England, a new host was chosen by the Star Sapphire.
Cowgirl escaped a prisoner transport and headed into
the woods.
Six yellow power rings were sent into the universe by
Arkillo from Qward.
As the Faceless Hunters prepared to board their ship
with Jordan, the Rocket Red Brigade attacked. The Justice
League arrived as well. |

to learn who'd offered the contract on his partner.
Jordan and Amon fought; the ring initially meant for
Batman chose Amon. Before he could do any damage to
the Green Lanterns, his new ring transported him away.

The
Star Sapphire adhered itself to Carol Ferris as she
was about to land a plane. She busted in on Hal and
Cowgirl having a beer. Green Lantern threw her into
the sky and grabbed her with a construct. The crystal
then attached itself to the other woman - Jillian Pearlman
was transformed.
As he was flying her back down, Carol told Hal about
the Zamarons and Sinestro.
--
Amon Sur arrived on Qward and was greeted by Lyssa Drak,
keeper of the Book of Parallax. She told him of Despotellis,
who transformed entire planets into rotting graveyards:
Reemuz, Green Lantern of sector 119 returned to his
home planet after patrolling and found only death and
a yellow lantern. He grew tired and eventually exhaled
his last breath - a sentient bio-virus known as Despotellis.
The tiny creature summoned its lantern en route to infecting
virtually all of the 714 inhabited planets in the sector.

As
he protected her, Carol told Hal of the memories she'd
gained while under the Star Sapphire's control: when
the Guardians began the GLC, a tribe of women had left
Oa - they did not want to live without emotion. They
settled on the planet Zamaron and discovered the crystals.
Elsewhere, the crystals took over planets where their
chosen had killed a Green Lantern.
Star Sapphire crashed GL, who was still carrying Carol,
into a building. On her suggestion, Hal gave Carol temporary
GL powers. The two attacked Star Sapphire. Zamarons
appeared as they got close to defeating her.
--
Lyssa Drak told Amon Sur another story, this one of
space sector 2815. On a jungle planet, a young girl
named Karu-sil was left homeless and alone when her
family was attacked. She was soon adopted by another
carnivorous pack of animals. She grew up not knowing
why she was different from them. Years later, after
she was an adult, she happened upon another humanoid
like herself. She and her pack attacked it, but a Green
Lantern killed her mates and "saved" her from
them. She was taken and institutionalized after killing
a doctor. A yellow ring eventually sought her. |

Carol
pried the crystal from Cowgirl while Hal was busy with
the Zamarons. The Star Sapphire became confused when
Hal kissed one of his attackers. It attached itself
to a Zamaron. She began to attack her "sisters."
They subdued her and returned home. There, they formed
rings and a battery from the crystals.
After Hal mad a date with Jill, he learned that Carol
was now divorce.
--
Lyssa Drak led Amon Sur to the fear lodges. His power
ring would be drained, and he would have to charge it
on his own. She told him of Bedovian of sector 3. He
preyed on a mining facility after going 600 years without
eating. Bedovian now inhabited one of the fear lodges.
Amon was stripped of the fear he'd collected and entered
one of the pods. |
