Two
Green Lanterns, Soranik Natu and Myrrt, headed to sector
1417 - the royal family of Betrassus was under attack.
Soranik's shield construct would not stop an energy
weapon - one of the princes was killed. After the threat
had passed, Natu flew off in anguish.
Guy Gardner (who'd been without leave for 1 year) demanded
to see the Guardians, but Salaak refused - only he could
see them. Kilowog stepped in before things turned violent.
Kilowog asked Salaak to talk to the Guardians for him
as he spoke with Gardner. Kilowog wanted Guy to find
Natu. They headed to his office and found Natu there
- she said her ring was cursed and she was resigning.
Prince Ragnar of Betra showed Green Lantern Myrrt his
collection of GL memorabilia. He dreamed of becoming
a member of the corps. An explosion rang out through
the palace.
Guy convinced Natu she was having rookie jitters. She
headed back into space after getting Myrrt's distress
call. Kilowog ordered Gardner to go help them. |

Natu
got Gardner up to speed on the situation as they neared
Betrassus. She was enraged to learn that her partner,
Myrrt, had been killed in battle.
Vath Sarn, who'd lashed out at his partner, Isamot, spent
some time on Mogo getting his head straight.
Guy and Prince Ragnar went looking for the assassins while
Natu stayed to perform the autopsy on Myrrt. Guy got a
lead, but Ragnar killed him.
Believing she'd found a toxin in Myrrt's brain, Natu sent
his body back to Oa and headed to the slums of the city.
She found a master chemist who was known for concocting
miracle potions. He hit her with a fear mixture. She got
word to Guy that she was in trouble.
Vath Sarn headed to 2682, where an atmospheric situation
threatened the lived of its inhabitants. He called Isamot
for backup.
Gardner found Natu dead. |

Prince
Ragnar was overcome with joy when he saw a power ring
coming for him - he'd been chosen as a representative
of sector 1417.
Two GLs arrived as backup for Vath, who was holding back
lava on Staphis. He headed out to find his partner.
Natu arrested Ragnar when he arrived on OA - they'd faked
her death after linking him to the deaths which had been
plaguing his kingdom. The murders were to draw out the
Green Lanterns so he could kill them and become one. Salaak
disagreed - as a member of the ruling family of his planet,
he had diplomatic immunity.
After Myrrt's funeral, Kilowog sent Guy on his shore leave.
Salaak told Natu that the Betrassus code would be more
than enough punishment for Ragnar, and gave her Myrrt's
ring to choose the next Lantern in her sector.
Vath located Isamot Kol on Thanagar - he was helping rebuild.
Isamot explained to him that his species had strong biological
urges and he needed to procreate. He introduced his lover
to Vath.
Natu gave the ring to Ragnar's sister, Iolande. Ragnar
was beheaded.
Bounty hunter Bolphunga tracked Guy Gardner to Restoria,
where he would finally get his revenge. |

Natu
visited Myrrt's family and gave them his lantern. His
mother did not want it and didn't want to be reminded
of the Green Lanterns. His father was more understanding
and secretly took it from her.
Gardner was attacked by the Bolphunga. After defeating
him (without his ring), he declared his vacation ruined.
He rushed into the hotel to retrieve his ring, but the
manager on staff had trouble getting the safe open. Bolphunga
found him. The safe was finally opened, but Guy's ring
was not inside.
The Thanagarians alerted officials that a Rannian was
on planet - Vath. As they asked him his business, reports
came in that Citadel battle ships were approaching the
planet. Isamot had to choose between duty to the GL and
duty to his race. |

Guy
went after another manager, who he believed was the ring
thief. It was confirmed - the creature tossed the ring
to Bolphunga, but Guy intercepted. Salaak and two other
GLs appeared - they'd received no response from Guy or
his ring and assumed he was dead. Salaak sent Guy to a
new assignment and stayed behind to clean up.
Isamot and Vath forced the Citadel ships into a retreat.
They gave chase all the way to the Vega system, which
is off limits to Lanterns.
Natu visited Mogo for reassurance. She headed off after
bumping into another Lantern.
Guy arrived in sector 73 and met Lantern Chthos-chthas
Chthatis. He updated him on the kidnapping and they went
in to the city of Ranx. Ranx was a living city that hated
the GLC.
Natu prepared to do surgery, but her people would not
tolerate her in the OR - a Lantern had once almost destroyed
their planet and they considered her a traitor to her
people. |

Salaak
returned to OA very much relaxed from his vacation.
Ranx became aware of the presence of Green Lanterns and
attacked them whit a rock creature. After defeating it,
Guy got an idea. He and 'Thos followed cabling to a brain
center and threatened to do harm. Ranx showed them exactly
where the hostages were. They saved the victim, but the
kidnapper self-destructed. As they left, Ranx vowed revenge
against the Lanterns.
Natu was disbarred from practicing medicine on her home
planet of Korugar. She got the same treatment from the
people in her apartment building. She set fire to her
belongings and declared Dr. Soranik Natu dead before flying
away.
Isamot's girlfriend didn't wait for him. He caught her
in bed with someone else. |
