Oliver
Queen woke up after receiving medical treatment for
two arrows through the back and chest. He freaked out,
attacked the staff, and escaped through a window. Connor
and Mia found him (they were banged up a bit, too -
MIA was on crutches) and explained what had happened.
He'd been found shot up on a rooftop and taken to a
medical camp by "regular Star City citizens."
Connor introduced Ollie to Frederick Tuckman, a man
he'd known from the monastery. He didn't believe Oliver
and MIA were safe in Star City, so he and Tuckman got
them care at the tropical island they were on. Ollie
demanded to know what was going on in Star City. They
told him and he wheeled himself away. He decided that
if they were going to go back, they all had to not only
get well, but get better.
Queen brought teachers in to retrain them. After a while,
he decided they weren't enough. He finally tracked down
Natas, the man who'd taught Deathstroke. |

MIA
watched as Ollie trained with Natas. The assassin seemed
to kick him around with no effort at all. After weeks
of the same, Ollie began to get better. MIA and Connor
continued to train with the other teachers they'd brought
in. When they got better, their teachers were proud.
When Ollie got better, Natas got mad.
He began attacking Ollie unexpectedly. Ollie disappeared.
Connor demanded to know where he was. Ollie got pissed
- they were playing "tag."
MIA seemed to be responding well to her HIV meds.
Tuckman told the group about the wall which had been
erected in Star City. Queen didn't take it well at all.
He wanted to be mayor - Tuckman had run campaigns. Ollie
discussed hiding funds with Natas. He hit the stock
market and began siphoning funding from corporations
with defense contracts.
Natas left him a note and told him he would not be seeing
him again. The note:
"I have sent an army to kill you. Best, N" |

A
group of assassins landed on the island to kill Queen
and his friends. Ollie rounded up MIA, Connor, and the
teachers. He instructed them all to hide. They refused,
so he barricaded them in a cave.
Ollie took three down quickly, then tricked others onto
the beach. He detonated their own weapons, knocking
them into the ocean. Others fired upon him. Ollie defeated
them by the time everyone had gotten out of the cave.
They rounded the assassins up and prepared to turn them
over to authorities.
MIA and Connor stayed on the island while Ollie headed
home to take back their city. |

Arrow and Speedy moved in on some gun runners. They
quickly realized it wasn't ordinary guns. They struck
and got support from Batman. Speedy never saw him, but
GA knew who'd been there.
Police Commissioner Brian Nudocerdo received a call
from Alcatraz - it was Slade Wilson. He said he had
information on Mayor Queen.
Mayor Queen dedicated a new housing development, Berkley
Gardens. He introduced Bruce Wayne, who'd helped finance
the venture.
Danny "Brick" Brickwell was approached for
the guns. He explained they'd been destroyed by Green
Arrow. They pulled guns on him, but were all shot and
killed by the Red Hood. |

Red
Hood explained to Brick that he wanted his guns (he'd
just killed his own men). He wanted Brick to work with
him to get the guns back. Brick refused, so Red Hood
pulled a gun on him. Brick picked him up by his head
and broke his helmet. After duking it out for a while,
Brick agreed to hear him out.
Batman told Green Arrow and Speedy that Jason Todd was
in town. Speedy called one of her contacts to see what
she could find out. They soon found the two men from
the gun deal. Batman got three addresses from them.
Batman and Green Arrow were fired upon. Batman was led
to Brick; GA was led to Red Hood. |

Batman
told Green Arrow that Red Hood had Speedy and was probably
"making a point." While looking for them,
they lectured each other about how bad they were at
being mentors.
Red Hood fought Speedy in her high school gym. Their
partners arrived in time to see it blow up. Speedy escaped
without harm; Red Hood escaped without a trace.
Tuckman turned on the TV for Mayor Queen - an expose
was running on his money and how he'd been funding the
Outsiders. |

Connor
returned to Star City. He picked a fight with a man
who was trying to go farther than his girl wanted. Green
Arrow helped out when they were caught in a drive-by.
A recall election was on the books - Police Commissioner
Nudocerdo was running. Connor didn't understand why
his father wasn't fighting back. Tuckman told him that
Queen had cut a deal - 30 of his programs would stay
running if he stepped down.
MIA got them some information on a big meeting - it
appeared Brick was putting together a new gang. The
three got into costume and head in. Black Canary offered
her assistance. |

Arrow and Black Canary crashed Brick's party. GA was
surprised to see Merlyn there. Brick grabbed GA and
Merlyn took aim. Canary used her cry to stop them and
they both escaped. GA yelled at Canary - he'd been where
he wanted to be, then they made up for the next couple
of days. He confirmed that he'd been celibate for a
year. When she poked at it, he told her he was hoping
to win her back.
MIA informed them she'd found Brick and Merlyn. She,
Black Canary, and the two Green Arrows went in, only
to find they'd been played. Drakon and Deathstroke were
there waiting for them. |

| storyline |
Drakon
went up against Connor and Speedy while Deathstroke
took on Ollie and Canary. Though their creative improvisation
scored some hits, Wilson ended up holding his sword
in Dinah's mouth. Ollie dropped his weapons and offered
himself to Deathstroke in return for him letting Canary
go. The Justice Leagued ended both fights. Deathstroke
and Drakon escaped.
Tuckman went to Nudocerdo - he offered to help his campaign
by being what was good in Queen's tenure. The commissioner
was advised to take him and make him head of the city
council.
Mayor Queen held a press conference and resigned as
mayor. Tuckman became mayor by holding the next highest
rank - head of the city council. Green Arrow (Connor
in Ollie's outfit) and Speedy fired arrows into the
wall which had been erected after the devastation and
it turned to liquid.
Afterwards, Green Arrow (Ollie) proposed to Black Canary. |
