The
Fates summoned Harmonia. Circe returned to Earth
and killed the Amazon named Amaya. She was planning
to start a holy war. She verified with Dr. Kaslak
that everything was in order.
Ronnie Raymond was called upon to help - a "great
threat to creation" was at hand.
Harmonia went to her father, Ares, but her sister
Eris was on his throne. Eris was involved in Circe's
plot.
Diana, with her mother thought dead, was questioned
by the Amazons on how long it would take before
she acted against Man's World. Hellene had been
killed in Man's World, and some of the Amazons believed
"mystical forces" were at work. Hermes
and Hercules appeared above Themyscira. Diana was
summoned to New Olympus. The gods explained to her
that they'd been unable to answer the prayers of
the Amazons. Olympus had become a prison to them
- no communications were coming into or out of their
home. Zeus was ailing. A demon cloaked in green
stood near him, overlooking the god. Diana recognized
him from a dream. Donna Troy was also on New Olympus
- she'd been encased in fire that not even the gods
could penetrate.
Harmonia traveled the River Styx en route to New
Olympus. Hades did not await her there, but an impostor.
She was attacked and thrown into the river. Klarion
the Witch Boy watched the encounter.
Back on Earth, Zatanna felt a sense of foreboding.
Starman temporarily lost control of his powers.
Circe began conjuring the gods. Harmonia was saved
from the River Styx by a man calling himself Halciber
Filius - formerly John Mann.
Olympus' attackers revealed themselves: Jupiter
and the Roman gods were there to "reclaim their
legacy." They also brought a human champion
to go against their adversary's: Captain Marvel.
Zeus reawakened. The green cloaked man disappeared.
Circe's spell encased the earth in fiery energy.
Like Starman earlier, other people with powers began
losing control of them.
The battle between Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel
ended in a lightning bolt. They both disappeared
- one of the gods had removed them from Olympus.
Their fight continued in Chaos. Hermes and Mercury
were also fighting there. Captain Marvel was temporarily
distracted and Diana got her lasso around him. An
explosion of souls came from Captain Marvel. He,
Diana, and the fighting messenger gods were thrown
into other portals of Chaos. Cap landed on Lobo
somewhere in the cosmos.
Darkseid watched Earth in its crisis.
Power Girl felt the need to go to Atlantis. Pariah,
the man in the green cloak, appeared over Earth.
An explosion rang out in the Antarctic where he
was seen. |

Katar
was hesitant about getting a new partner after Shayera
was sent back to Thanagar. A trade ship from Earth
had just returned from its first voyage to his home
planet. They told reporters that it was a waste
of time - the Thanagarians had no intention of opening
up trade with them.
Shayera surprised Katar - she'd convinced their
supervisors to let her return to Earth. That night,
they attended a museum function in full dress. Mavis
made a scene with Katar in front of Shayera. Later
that evening, Katar saw a blinding light from a
display and found himself disoriented. He found
himself in the presence of Gae Deon, an "old
god." His spell had gone awry - he was not
looking for Katar, so he send Hawkman back home
to write the wrong.
Some items from the Thanagarian exhibit had been
activated. The attendees of the event had been possessed
by old gods called the Celae. They would have to
be killed before they could be transformed fully
into gods. Katar gained audience with two of the
higher gods and convinced them they were not on
Thanagar and they had not possessed their followers.
The gods realized it to be true and returned to
from where they'd come.
Katar realized Dr. Kaslak was missing. |

Wonder
Woman looked for Dr. Fate. She realized she was
in the right neighborhood when she encountered several
time-displaced people (Dr. Fate had recently released
several lost souls from a cursed building).
Kent and Inza argued over how she was treating /
controlling people.
Fate (Inza) took Diana to the moon where they could
talk in private. Diana gave Inza the details of
the war so far - her mother and Donna had both disappeared
now. Others had been killed.
Kent took an assignment near the Iraq / Iran border.
The Egyptian god Thoth attacked the city. Dr. Fate
and Wonder Woman returned from the moon to do battle.
Fate was able to dissipate Thoth, but his energy
poured throughout the city.
While rebuilding their battleground, Inza agreed
to join the cause. Diana told her she would make
some arrangements and return soon. When she entered
her home, she found a letter from Kent. He told
her he'd left on a dig - loved her but no longer
knew her. |

Flash
caught up with one of the messenger gods, Hermes.
Even though he knew he was one of the "good
guys," Flash still threw punches at him. Hermes
touched him: Flash lost consciousness, and the god
gained his speed. He'd already gained the powers
of the other speedsters. After Flash downed some
food, he was back to normal. He then found Hermes
and Mercury fighting. Flash got between them and
baited them toward Chunk, the living black hole.
He ate Mercury. Hermes congratulated them and told
them of the war. Flash and Chunk joined the cause.

played a Justice League video game until her friend
arrived with Pizza. Elsewhere, Kent's team found
a tiny pyramid at the dig. They watched as a sandstorm
picked up nearby.
The Egyptian gods reappeared in the city and began
wrecking it. They also appeared to Kent as the sandstorm.
They told him they'd placed the mantle of Dr. Fate
onto his wife because she'd be easier to defeat.
An elderly woman agreed to let her body become the
vessel of a snake being who wanted to fight the
gods.
The Helmet of Fate appeared to a man and instructed
him to read an incantation. It then appeared to
Kent - they'd stumbled upon pillars of protection
from the gods. Dr. Fate was able to vanquish the
gods after they were weakened by the spell. She
headed to Egypt. |

Police
in three helicopters attempted to apprehend Wonder
Woman. They opened fire and she deflected their
shots with her bracelets. A helicopter was struck.
She guided it safely down and flew off.
Circe sent two "government agents" to
the Thanagarian embassy authorizing deadly force
against the Amazon - off the record, of course.
The ambassador turned them down knowing it was a
setup. The two men morphed into cat creatures and
attacked. They were both killed.
After some checking, it was learned they were federal
agents, but had not been authorized to visit the
Thanagarians. With the FBI infiltrated, they gave
the official word to bring in Wonder Woman. In return,
Hawkman and Hawkwoman would be given federal jurisdiction.
The Hawks spotted her and engaged. Hawkman stopped
Hawkwoman from killing (or being killed by) Wonder
Woman and advised the Amazon to stop and talk to
them. She agreed to turn herself in for the jailbreak
(she'd broken Amazons out of jail, but only because
they needed medical attention) after her mission
was completed. The Hawks agreed to help her by flying
her part of the way and letting her have one of
Shayera's uniforms as a disguise. |

Circe
prepared for her island to be invaded. Hera fought
Jupiter after the death of Zeus. Dr. Magnus' Metal
Men were commandeered by one of the gods. Hermes
and Harmonia watched as Diana appeared near them
in a netherworld holding her mother. She cried out
to Hermes to save her. She was sent back to Themyscira.
Animal Man appeared in the Tower of Fate. The sorcerers
wanted to "tap" into his powers.
The Suicide Squad entered Circe's castle. Black
Adam was the first to get to her. She used an Egyptian
artifact to steal his powers. The rest of his team
soon found him. As soon as he was awakened, he flew
off as though terrified.
Batman attempted to contact Wonder Woman through
Shayera's helmet, but she'd already ditched the
costume. Hawkwoman answered his call - an airstrike
had been called on Paradise Island.
Two Amazons were chased by beastiamorphs They leapt
into the sea and were saved by Aquaman.
The Suicide Squad got to Circe. She killed Javelin.
As Eris was about to aide Mars in his battle with
her father, Ares, Harmonia attacked her.
Lobo and Black Adam found themselves at an alter
where the Wizard Shazam had Billy Batson. The son
of Vulcan had brought them there.
Starman and the Hawks blasted at the "holes
in the sky" as the warplanes approached. They
told Diana to get back to her island with her mother.
Darkseid prepared for action, but Orion stood in
his way.
Circe's beastiamorphs began reverting back to their
natural forms - the sorcerers' spell with Animal
Man was working. Pariah was seen crying tears of
joy. Troia, still encased in fire, began screaming
as though possessed. Hermes brought Circe back into
the netherworld where he'd banished her previously.
The skies above Paradise Island opened up and the
fighter jets appeared. Wonder Woman flew out to
stop them, but was swallowed up by the sea. She
washed upon a shore where she found Aquaman, two
of her Amazon sisters, and part of the Suicide Squad.
Circe appeared with the dead body of Hermes. She
attacked and destroyed Diana. New Olympus appeared
in the sky above Paradise Island.
Pariah was found in Donna Troy's bed. Lilith called
Donna's husband. |

Scientists
at STAR Labs reported that the earth should have
been destroyed - it appeared only magic was holding
it together at this point. Earth's heroes stood
ready for a final confrontation with Circe, hoping
to save the planet from being replaced by New Olympus.
The Amazon queen awakened. They had to get her back
to Paradise Island. Her daughter Diana awakened
in the presence of Deadman, the Spectre, and the
Phantom Stranger. She was not quite dead - Klarion
the Witchboy had sabotaged Circe's spell.
The heroes attacked New Olympus. Heracles led an
attack on Hades. Charon was killed guarding his
river.
The Wizard Shazam explained the situation to Black
Adam. They set out to recreate the original SHAZAM
spell and had placed the powers into the Metal Men.
They now needed Princess Diana to complete the spell.
Harbinger arrived and told them Wonder Woman was
dead.
Ares bid his daughter Harmonia farewell. She was
dead.
Highfather and Harbinger stopped the fighting between
New Genesis and Apokolips to inform them their war
was a farce brought on by a mad sorceress on Earth.
Lobo arrived at New Olympus and grabbed Troia. They
disappeared. War raged in Gotham City.
The gods of war appeared above New Olympus and ordered
everyone to stop fighting. Dead heroes rose again
to take the war further. Hippolyte reformed her
daughter from the same clay, elsewhere, Billy Batson
was revived. When he called upon Shazam, Circe (who'd
just fired upon Themyscira) was hit by lightning.
Superman deflected her blast. Circe once again found
herself in the netherworld where she'd been banished
by Hermes twice before. Donna and Diana were there
waiting for her. Harbinger led Captain Marvel to
Paradise Island. With all the gods against her,
Circe's power began to fail. Hecate had left her.
The zombified dead heroes crumbled. The War of the
Gods was over, and the gods stepped back so that
their children could reign. |
