| storyline |
An
arms deal went bad when the sellers (a group of white
supremacists) opened their case of money and rattlesnakes
were inside. The buyers, followers of Kali Yuga, killed
them all.
Black Queen (Sasha Bordeaux) and White King (Michael
"Mr. Terrific" Holt) were notified that Pawn
502 had notified them of the cell going active and purchasing
weaponry. One member of the Kobra cell was a former
Everyman project who called himself Ghostwalker due
to his power to turn invisible. It was unknown if he
could still access that power.
Ghostwalker proved he could still do it on their next
hit. Several drug dealers were killed while they counted
their money.
That night, the Kobra cell was located and captured
by a DMA team. Emmet Burke - Ghostwalker - escaped.
Sasha visited Pawn 502 in his cell and assured him he
would be joining Kobra. |

Black
Queen had it out with Sgt. Steel of the DMA for jeopardizing
their mission - the midterm elections were nearing and
the media was all over the story. She threatened to
deputize all of them and order them to cooperate if
necessary.
White King got his new bishop - the Thinker.
Black Queen visited 502 again, telling him he was going
back into action by escaping and killing DMA agents
on his way out.
Jessica Midnight and two other operatives found their
way into the Oblivion Bar and met with Detective Chimp.
He and Shadowpact were being deputized.
Bordeaux used Shadowpact to stage the escape while on
live TV. |

502
and another escapee met with Kobra's Sister Devotion.
White Queen briefed Shadowpact. They believed Kobra
had a mind reader / sorcerer in their ranks (leading
to the deaths of all the previous attempts to get an
agent inside).
Emmet visited Tye, the other cell member who was with
502. He told him that he (Lucas / 502) was involved
with Checkmate and could not be trusted. Lucas overheard
them and their plan.
The 'pact did their own blood work to countermeasure
that which Kobra's "Bestowed" was doing with
the blood of Tye and Lucas. The Bestowed saw Emmet and
cut him as well (so they could read his blood). They
found Lucas to be true, but Tye and Emmet as spies.
Checkmate burst in as they were about to be ritualistically
murdered; Kobra escaped with their new member, pawn
502. |

Fire
was called into action while on leave visiting her father.
Bane and his forces were at work in Santa Prisca - the
country was on the brink of a civil war. Bane's candidate
in it's election should have won, but the results were
falsified. Thinker showed them proof - from the man
who'd rigged the election. He wanted Checkmate's protection.
Fire and Mademoiselle Marie were going to get Colonel
Computron to safety.
Waller spoke with Faraday - she was furious that Computron
was alive and talking. He was turning himself in to
the organization which put him in place, though Waller
did it without Checkmate's consent.
Bordeaux and Holt were on to her and informed Black
King. Bordeaux told them that Marie could not go - she
was in surgery. Tommy Jagger, son of Judomaster (who
was killed by Bane) was going in her place.
The Blackhawk submarine got the two knights onto the
island. Bea (Fire) got to Computron, lit up, and blasted
him. |

Jagger
burst in to find Dacosta standing over the very much
dead Colonel Computron. She claimed he attacked her
and was forced to retaliate. Bane saw the green flames
and ran to their location. She scooped up what was left
of him and placed him in the case. Jagger covered her
escape and met Bane head on. Bane knew exactly who he
was, but refused to listen to Checkmate's explanation.
Jagger quickly bested him in combat and escaped.
Back aboard the sub, Bea told Tommy she'd taken fire
and lost the case en route. Computron was lost. Once
they reached the Castle, they gave their reports. Jagger
said Dacosta had intentionally blown the mission. She
confessed it all. Waller met her in her cell and kept
their agreement.
Two agents met with Fire's father looking for Colonel
Ramon Corvalho. He told them he could not help them.
Black King questioned Fire again about the mission and
about Corvalho, who led Operation Condor in South America
in the 1970s. He gave her the option of coming clean
or facing murder charges in Santa Prisca. She confirmed
her choices - squeal on her father so he would go to
prison for life or be imprisoned for life herself.
She led Checkmate to her father and gave him up. He
disowned her.
Black King played chess with Amanda Waller and informed
her that her hold over DaCosta was null. |
