Storyline: Batman was able to get the trackers off Man-Bat's trail. He cornered him and hit him with the antidote. In a matter of minutes, Dr. Kirk Langstrom was revealed. Batman got him to safety.

Storyline: A man calling himself the Undertaker began robbing graves and sending Thank You notes to the corpses' living relatives. The robbed graves led Batman to the funeral parlor that buried each victim. Batman took down the third generation mortician who was making a sculpture from the bones.

Storyline: Batman shook down a False-Facer set to meet a new to Gotham City arsonist-for-hire. Bruce Wayne gave a radio interview and asked out the host - Vesper Fairchild. Thinking he'd set one of their men up, False Facers killed Tony "Sparks." In Hell, Sparks told the Spectre Batman killed him.

Storyline: Bruce Wayne began making public appearances for the first time in months. Batman went after the Sparks killers but was too late - Spectre had already purged their lives.

Storyline: Batman finally felt like he was back in the groove after his injury and rehab. He decided to continue to develop the Bruce Wayne character. A fired postal worker began killing people on his route who never "saw" him. After the forth murder, Gordon called on Batman for help.

Storyline: Batman caught a glimpse of "Faceless" at the scene of the next murder, but he slipped into a theater crowd before he could be caught. Batman and Robin noticed the patter and nailed it down as being a postal route. They went in and took him down.

Storyline: Bruce Wayne had a date with Vesper Fairchild, but it ended with the light of the Batsignal. Joker cooked up some gas that turned people into subservient zombies with his trademark smile. Batman chased down Joker and Etrigan.

Storyline: Batman caused Etrigan to realize that Joker was not a sorcerer; he was using the demon. Batman saved Joker from Etrigan's wrath and delivered him to the police. The demon vanished.

Storyline: Bullock got a call from a man with hostages. Montoya traced its source and headed out with backup. Batman saved a lady from an attempted suicide. Bullock talked the man into giving up.

Storyline: Two Black Maskers foiled a robbery by a member of Penguin's gang. Penguin began thinking of the old days and visited his old hideout - a huge aviary. He personally broke into a jewelry store, stole one diamond, and left an egg. He then took down a False Face delivery truck and plotted against Batman.

Subtitle: The Penguin Returns part two: The Egyptian Falcon

Storyline: Penguin struck again, stealing a 4000 year old statue of a falcon. Again he left an egg. Vesper Fairchild told Bruce she loved him. He fumbled and she walked out. Batman tracked Penguin to the aviary and they faced off. With Batman having no evidence, Penguin walked away. He returned to his casino, and Batman recovered the statue. Vesper and Bruce went out again.
