Writer(s): Peter Milligan
Artists(s): Dustin Nguyen, Derek Fridolfs
Storyline: While chasing Gotham Jack, Batman recalled the note Talia wrote him about the Suit of Sorrows she'd given him during her father's resurrection. It was said that no one could wear the suit who wasn't pure.
Batman forced himself to let Gotham Jack go - he felt somewhat a madness running through him. He was wearing the suit. He and Robin ran some tests on the suit and dated it to the 1000-1100 AD time period, during the Crusades.
Batman went out in search of answers. He tracked a monk in the Alps. The monk double-crossed him and he was buried in an avalanche. When he freed himself, he found the monk was being attacked by others. Batman stopped them and the monk told him the truth. The story about the pure knight, Geoffrey de Cantonna, who vanquished the Moors, was made up to cover the truth. The suit had caused him to go mad.
Back in Gotham, Batman thought of destroying the suit, but changed his mind. After taking down Gotham Jack while wearing it, he put it in the trophy room as a reminder.
